Empowering our people living with disabilities

In keeping with our core values of dignity and respect for all, we have implemented an initiative which seeks to empower members from the most vulnerable group in our community. These brave individuals have chosen to rise above their disabilities and empower themselves with the necessary skills so that they can be valuable contributors to their families and their communities.

We provide training programmes in beadwork and the knitting of garments to our people living with disabilities. Our aim is to provide them with the necessary skills to produce goods that can be sold to sustain themselves and their families.

Apart from the boost in self-worth that is provided by being a valuable contributor to the community, we also seek to improve their overall wellness by singing together in our choir. We all get a much needed boost and feed of each other’s energies by singing as a group which instills a sense of togetherness and camaraderie among our members.
